In Surah Al-Hadid (Iron), Verse 25, Allah speaks about the creation of iron: "And We sent down (Anzalna) iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people..." The Quran usually uses the word Khalaqa خلق (Created) or Ja'ala(Made) for natural things (e.g., "He created the heavens," "He made the mountains"). But for Iron, the word is Anzalna (We sent down/downloaded). This was puzzling because iron is dug up from the earth. However, astrophysics has revealed that iron cannot be produced by Earth itself. The solar system's sun does not have enough heat to fuse iron (which requires temperatures found only in Supernovas). All the iron on Earth actually came from outer space via meteorites that struck the earth billions of years ago. Iron was literally "sent down" from the sky, distinct from other earthly elements.
