It would be great if cars and airplanes were autonomous. Airplanes can do a lot already without a pilots intervention.
The technology is great and getting better everyday but...,
I don't understand the desire to remove manual controls in these autonomous vehicles. Maybe it's a control issue I have, or that I feel more secure in taking over in case there is a problem. Even those automous airport trains have manual controls.
For robo taxi I guess it's cheaper to make a car without manual control inputs. But aside from cost and a little space savings, are there any other benefits of having no steering wheel in a robo taxi?
