In exchange, the U.S. has promised to work on stopping the flow of high-powered weapons into Mexico. Sheinbaum also said both countries will immediately start working on security and trade, and for now, tariffs are on hold for a month—though it’s anyone’s guess whether she meant U.S. tariffs or Mexico’s counter-tariffs.
