This year we have mailed over 3,000 packages of books to prisoners across the country, and we'll send thousands more this year. Can you help us with the cost of mailing books to prisoners? Postage is our largest expense, and every cent is needed! Donate at linktr.ee/dcbtp

Our #1 expense at is postage, and when you send around 8,000 packages a year that can really add up! Every cent you can spare helps support out entirely volunteer-run organization and goes towards sending books to those with nowhere else to turn. Donate at linktr.ee/dcbtp

DCBtP needs your help! In 2018 the cost of a one-pound media mail package was $2.66 while today the one-pound rate is $4.47! So far in 2025 we have received 3910 individual requests for books. Can you help us mail books to prisoners? Anything helps! linktr.ee/dcbtp

With some help from our Independent Bookstore Day drive, we are able to send 128 books to the prison book clubs we support in three states. You too can donate books to our book clubs, check out dcbookstoprisonets.org.

Today in Silver Spring! Join us for an informational sessions about the local non-profit DC Books to Prisons, which has provided free books to incarcerated readers since 1999. Learn about the history of the organization, book censorship in prisons, and how to get involved.

The President Lincoln Cottage Museum is holding a book drive for us this month! If you're in the neighborhood visit a vert cool museum and help send books to the incarcerated! lincolncottage.org
