@mommavestor I've that a loan against capital gain should have the loan be considered as normal income and taxed as such, maybe with extra fee. Sorta of like early withdrawal penalty from IRA. just cursory thought, though, as living off borrowed $ just seems weird to my poor-ness.

A thought occurred to me as my property taxes increased again this year; a $600/mo increase in 3 yrs on property assessment. My question is, why it's viewed as okay, to tax homeowners on unrealized gains, but not billionaires who borrow against their stock to subsidize income?

I mean come on, worst case, let me ride it to the end, and if I end up lon or short an /ES, the immediately close it after. I don't see how they are in a risky spot
