Both leaders highlighted the significance of cross-border legal dialogue, knowledge sharing, and continued engagement between the legal institutions of India and Sri Lanka in order to promote best practices within the justice delivery system.

The Bar Association of India (BAI) hosted an India–Sri Lanka Legal Dialogue on 10 March 2026, bringing together distinguished members of the legal fraternity from India and Sri Lanka to deliberate on issues of mutual professional interest and cooperation.

On 10 March 2026, the delegation visited the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, interacted with the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, observed live proceedings in the Chief Justice’s Court, and explored the Supreme Court Museum, War Room, and Judges’ Library.

On 9 March 2026, the delegation visited the historic premises of the Delhi High Court and had the privilege of interacting with the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, along with Hon’ble Mr. Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vivek Chaudhary.

Bar Association of India slams #JusticeShekharKumarYadav’s VHP event remarks, calling them a violation of judicial oath and the Constitution's secular ethos. 'Such statements undermine the judiciary's impartiality and the Rule of Law', it says.

Bar Association of India condemns the remarks made by Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav of Allahabad HC at a VHP event. “These remarks are contrary to the principle of secularism as enshrined in the Constitution of India, in flagrant violation of the oath of office of a judge of Constitutional Court and strike at the very foundation of a fair and unbiased judiciary which sustains the Rule of Law.”
