There is actually a set of dynamics inherent to communication, that are critical to performance: (i) energy, (ii) engagement, (iii) exploration. You can quantify the ideal team pattern for each

What’s fascinating, is that the researchers could tell which teams would outperform by just looking at the data based on their communication - without meeting the people!

With an insane consistency, the data showed that the most critical predictor of a team’s success is its communication patterns. More than that, they found that those patterns were as significant as all other variables, namely intelligence, personality, talent … combined!
