“Things That Happened, For a Reason” by @oliviapedi captures exactly how I’ve always looked at my life— The melted clock stuck on 11:11 feels like a moment I’ve wished into the void a thousand times. A sign. A reset. A prayer that maybe everything is aligning—even when it doesn’t feel that way. The ladybug on the nail, the burning lighter on a chain... It’s delicate and violent at the same time. That’s how life has felt. Like something small could tip everything. Having the distinguished pleasure of looking at this piece countless of times a day for more than a year now--I understand it now—things had to happen this way, and while it may not feel like it, they happened for a reason. With major life changes on my end, it felt like the right time to seek a new home for this piece, and the best was found with @Vince_Van_Dough. Before and most certainly after winning the bid for this piece I was able to form a friendship with @oliviapedi that spans beyond artist and collector, while creating historic moments in her young career...Apropos to the piece title. This piece was sold yesterday for her ATH sale of 1.75E!!!!!! Like I said before, the best is truly yet to come.
