🔋♻️ Extended Producer Responsibility advances: Chile publishes draft battery regulation Chile’s Ministry of the Environment has released a draft regulation for batteries under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Law, reinforcing its commitment to the circular economy. The proposal sets collection and recovery targets for batteries weighing 5 kg or more, classifying them into three categories: lead-acid, lithium-ion, and other chemistries. Producers placing these batteries on the national market will be required to finance and operate collection and recycling systems through authorized waste managers.
