In the spirit of blog.bbr.com/2020/04/03/the… I opened a gift I’ve been hoarding for some while. Ardbeg 1998 Toasted Oak cask #1189 - An extraordinary, smoky, medicinal monster. Filthy and fabulous oak intermingles with liniment of various kinds. Like Beelzebub’s personal Mezcal!

@rickfisher43 Buy it, keep it, drink it. A perfect triangle, although not always an equilateral one!

@BBRrob Love it. Earlier this week a bottle of Alsace gwertztraminer from our 2009 Easter trip to Italy bit the dust. It was beautiful.

Drinking a kind gift. Glen Grant 5yo, distilled 1979. Proper old, young whisky. Beautifully textured. Sweetly and delicately wooded. Herbal in all the right ways. More like this please, oh whisky deities!
