Is there even a shred of social responsibility in anything anymore? 41 lives have been lost, and instead of showing basic humanity, it’s being reduced to cheap political drama with cinematic dialogues. Now, even Ponraj’s statement is being twisted for yet another round of disgraceful politics despite the fact that he has no connection whatsoever with the DMK. The language used by Ponraj in public is undoubtedly vulgar and deserves clear condemnation. For that, even a simple complaint from an ordinary party worker would have been sufficient. But what we are witnessing instead is a so called ‘virtual warrior’ leader, pretending to champion women’s concerns, while his followers stoop to degrading and disrespecting women across the board. In all of this, the kind of petty and distasteful politics being played makes Vijay’s actions appear even more repulsive to me than Ponraj’s words themselves.
