@BBallCapital @BadChoiceBurner So you think UConn is going to bring in another guy through the portal to start at the 3? Even though they have Jayden, Nik, and Colb on the team? Meanwhile there's currently only 1 ball handler and 1 center on the roster. But your focus would be another wing?

I don’t think people really grasp just how good Andre was. Ross doesn’t even come close to him on either end of the floor. Athleticism? Maybe the only thing they have in common and it’s still Andre by a lot
Mr. Smith 👑@BadChoiceBurner

My guess is this means JRoss will get to have his Andre Jackson moment next season, sliding into the starting 3 slot. Team will obviously have a completely different makeup now & I believe an off the bench shooter becomes a #UConn portal priority

@MikeBajda Yeah different type of athleticism for sure. Also was very smart. Two completely different players that’s why I hate when they get compared lol

@BBallCapital Ross is 70% of the athlete Ajx is. He is taller/longer, and he's a much better shooter. But not nearly as twitchy/explosive or as good a passer/ballhandler.

@BadChoiceBurner @BBallCapital It's nice when people start talking like this. Easy to identify non-ballknowers. Andre was great, but was also borderline unplayable on offense for 2 years. Jaydens ascension has been remarkable this past season. No signs of slowing down. That's our starting SF.

@BadChoiceBurner Better shooter? Yes easily. But that’s not all offense is about. Andre was light years better offensively because he was so good at everything else. His instincts were so good

@BBallCapital Ross isn’t anywhere close to the passer that Andre was. Ajax was also a better on ball defender. Ross is a far better shooter though & the idea he can’t start for a title team seems short-sighted

@JaXkzed Come on lol he doesn’t at all. Andre saw the floor better than 90% of the country and was an electric passer. Not to mention could set massive screens and knew where to be on the floor to get scoring opportunities around the rim. It’s not all about scoring

@BBallCapital It’s more of he fills a similar roll as Andre and I would say he has a slightly better offensively game then Andre did

@tworingsbaldy @BBallCapital He literally said “If Ross starts we aren’t winning a title I’m sorry” - I couldn’t disagree more with that statement. If someone wants to say Landrew will start over Ross? Fine, that’s fair. I disagree, but fair. Nothing lazy about mentioning Andre tho.

@BadChoiceBurner No it’s not, he’s not a starting caliber player on a championship team. He doesn’t have the offensive ability especially in Hurley’s system. Andre didn’t either but was 100x the basketball player than Ross is

BREAKING: UConn's Solo Ball will miss the 2026-27 season following wrist injury and return for 2027-28 following a medical redshirt, per release. Averaged 12.8 PPG and made 77 three-point shots last season. Significant Big East News.

@MisterHotBalls That’s what people don’t understand. They thought we got lucky we absolutely killed them in the 2nd half. Thought we were the better overall team that entire game

@BBallCapital Karabrick was a cone who would shoot them out of games regularly. I know he’s a hero of the suburban UConn fans, but it’ll be addition by subtraction, whether y’all admit it or not.

@CannoliesCards You’re right, 3 of the same guards that will be better and a stretch 4 paired with a rim protecting 5. Talking myself into number 7 now actually

@BBallCapital Demary 2nd year running the offense. Newton took a huge step in year 2. Solo injury free. Mullins in year 2… Calling it the same 3 guards is a stretch. Bench has more depth also. Ross was hitting new strides and can be an x factor. Landrew has potential. One backup PG

@BBallCapital Year 2 Silas and Mullins and healthy solo plus confident senior j Ross, need more depth obviously but I can see it.

@BBallCapital Same 3 guards with one more year of experience is important. Retention matters. And Ross is becoming a piece.
