@ScottGShore I think I’ll forever sympathise with gaffers. I’m not saying he shouldn’t or should be sacked- match going fans I feel are always pretty good indicators for this generally. But the disrespect to a man who has done the job he has done- top 4 twice & a trophy is mind boggling

@pking4654 @alex_linardos Don’t think anyone is disagreeing that he was terrible at Norwich. But he is also the same guy that did well at MK Dons, Oxford & us. He led us to playoffs in a year where he went through personal tragedy. He could have won manager of the season last year!

@pking4654 @alex_linardos I get that Norwich fans view on him as a gaffer isn’t going to be flattering. He was terrible. But 1 bad job doesn’t make him a bad gaffer. The main point is he is on his 3rd job after what he has been through I think he could genuinely do with a break.

@JonD_BCFC Tbh back when we had our midfield injury situation I didn’t have too much problem with Vyner in midfield. Like you say I think he is more than good enough to do it. The issue was more what we lost out on when we moved him out of our defence. CB imo clearly his best position

Fans were talking like it was ridiculous to have to play Vyner in midfield earlier in the season. Well Wrexham seem to have signed him to play as a midfielder. He plays there every game. He's always played well there in the past for us. Players can suit more than one position

I think it is generally accepted he has not the man to blame, but I do think performances like today is where Struber should take fault. That team felt so unlike a Struber side & even with the injury situation- that level is so below where it needs to be. Shouldn’t be sacked btw

@BristolCity @fever_uk That was a poor watch. Not sure anyone perhaps other than Eile comes out with any sort of credit. Struber needs to find a reaction because whatever we were trying to do that half was sub-optimal at best.

Gutting for Alex Scott. Been superb all season but especially in recent weeks, standing out in a side that’s ten unbeaten. Really don’t know what more he could have done. #afcb

@EuanBCFC_ @JonD_BCFC The criticism I had at LM was I couldn’t get why he would trust him vs Leeds of all teams & not play him much again. Against league 2 in the cup probably different story. But I think both GS & LM have had similar views on what is coming through not being up to the level they want

@BCFCRobinsView @JonD_BCFC That’s also fair, but GS did start him in the cup. And has also had no issue playing the likes of Pecover, Thomas when we had no options there. Main reason Elijah’s not played a lot at FGR is because they bring in a whole new squad every month it seems..

It's obvious youth have to be good enough to play or else they'll play crap and the team play worse. Our aim last two seasons have been playoffs. Why were some fans banging on about LM not using youth but are now fine with GS doing the same. I agree with both btw but come on

@EuanBCFC_ @JonD_BCFC Tbf I was critical last year of LM treatment of Morrison but he didn’t play a single minute this year either under GS in circumstances where he had an even greater opportunity to play. Might be one that just wasn’t as good as we thought if LM & GS didnt play him

@JonD_BCFC Tbf, big difference is that at the moment all of our better prospects are out on loan. LM didn’t have a recognised LWB for months yet still only gave Elijah 36 minutes all season.

@John_evans21 @TheExiledRobin Agreed, but if you’ve recruited for a back 3, I think you would want at least 1 more with either a versatile cover (tanner) or academy lad (JKL?) as a 6th option. The fact that we only had the 4 of which 1 has been out all year & another with a modest injury record is crazy to me

@BCFCRobinsView @TheExiledRobin Yea agree, we have 4 starting Cb's on the books which for a club of our stature is i think ok, dont think we can realistically keep that many happy, but its the lack of any specialist CB's as cover thats the issue.

@AnalysisBCFC @BristolCity @thatchers_cider I think Randell and Atkinson, (twine also returned goof numbers), have been our best players across the season but I think you’re right in the fact that Vitek has been (pun fully intended) number one. Has won us so many points this season!

@BristolCity @thatchers_cider If this man doesn't win player of the season then it will be a disgrace. Even if the season isn't over. Twine done much better. I've liked Randell. But neither really come close

@TheExiledRobin Agreed, I’m not sure I’m exaggerating when I say that every club exaggerates. A lot of teams struggle with injuries, we aren’t alone in that. I think we haven’t prepared as well as we could have with our planning, where our “crisis” effects us more than it perhaps should have.

@BCFCRobinsView Yes agree totally. But I’m certain some of our fans think we have worse injury records than every other club in the world. It’s not good btw, but every club has tough periods

@AnalysisBCFC @BristolCityFM I think that’s how I viewed it before but it’s not the positions we are in but the positions we are in relation to their defence. Because we aren’t able to progress in the ways we like, the job in the final third is almost completely different. Everything effects everything.

@BCFCRobinsView @BristolCityFM Final third play is surely what happens in the final 3rd!? Not the first or 2nd 3rd before getting into the attacking areas? We have lacked ideas when in and around the box. Surely that's agreed by many?

Battled hard. Knight middle of the back 3 might be a decent answer for final games. Boro certainly should have won. A concern is final 3rd for me. We don't have injury problems there, yet I don't see a game plan or quality in that area of the pitch

@FevsFootball @BristolCityFM @AnalysisBCFC Whilst it’s hard to complain in hindsight due to achieving the playoffs but it was that intent I would have loved at away from home. And at times even at home, felt we had an attacking intent without the ball, but wanted more a controlled style rather than attacking with the ball

@BristolCityFM @BCFCRobinsView @AnalysisBCFC This is a great summary of cause and effect. For the Manning supporters this is exactly the solution he found after Xmas last season. Opened up passing lanes into Twine latterly Bird who pivoted infield. It is exactly what you can’t do with Tanner. Lovely thread BCFM

@BristolCityFM @AnalysisBCFC How do we find a different way to get the most out of the attacking players despite the circumstance. Or is it a case of doing what he is doing in exploring a range of different solutions? Feel for Struber as he can’t play how he wants (somehow still gets judged for it tho 🤦‍♂️)

@BristolCityFM @AnalysisBCFC So the issues are less about the positions we are getting into, but more about those positions in relation to how the defence is set. Harder to create those chances from those positions because it’s against an organised defence, not an unorganised defence. Question is…
