What this means for residents: • 911 calls may be triaged to ensure the correct resources are being dispatched • BCFR may respond to a call, assess the patient and contact CAS to transport the patient to a local hospital for non-emergency cases

To ensure we are meeting the health and safety needs of our community, Brevard County Fire Rescue is coordinating with our long-standing partner, Coastal Ambulance, to provide non-life-threatening patient transportation to the hospital effective April 7.

We want to take some time to thank our incredible Brevard County Ocean Rescue lifeguards! This team had a busy holiday weekend keeping our residents and visitors safe. Our lifeguards performed 229 rescues from Friday, June 30 to Tuesday, July 4.

-Parents and guardians are encouraged to keep a close eye on small children. Assign one person to keep an eye on one or two kids. -Digging deep holes can be dangerous to people & wildlife. It's sea turtle nesting season. If you decide to dig a hole, please fill it in.

Reminders: -In addition to bringing water to the beach, be sure to drink plenty of water before and after your beach trip. -If you start to feel ill. Stop what you are doing and seek shade immediately. If your condition does not improve seek medical assistance.

If you’re headed to the beach this holiday week, be sure to bring lots of cold water and snacks for your family, as well as sunscreen and an umbrella or shade cover. Come to one of our lifeguarded beaches and be sure to check the lifeguard stand for the flag for beach conditions.
