Most recently, we had the honor of participating in an inspiring Black History Month program at the Tower Club Fort Lauderdale. The event recognized Eugene K. Pettis as a Tower Club Trailblazer—celebrating his historic role as the first African American President of The Florida Bar, founder of the Pettis, Osborne & Francis, P.A., and former Chair of the Tower Club Board of Governors. What made the experience even more powerful was the opportunity for our young people to be present and engaged in such an important moment of recognition and leadership. Students representing 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project & Chorus from Miramar High School, the Pre-Law Magnet Program at William Dandy Middle School, and scholars from Dillard 6-12 School were able to witness history, leadership, and excellence up close. 🔥 Push-Up Showdown: Everglades vs. South Broward 🔥 Sunshine State Conference NSU Sentinels!!! After the JROTC Takeover Spirit Competition ended in a tie, South Broward High called for a REMATCH — and Everglades High accepted the challenge! 💪🏾 It went down in an epic Push-Up Match that had the crowd on their feet! 🏆 Competition Highlights: • Highest Attendance – 1st Place: $500 • Highest Attendance – 2nd Place: $200 • Most Spirit: $200 • Most Push-Ups: $100 (3 Cadets – Male/Mix – 1 Minute) • Teams switched seating at halftime • Winners announced during Men’s Halftime The energy? ELECTRIC. ⚡ The spirit? UNMATCHED. The competition? Down to the LAST push-up. And in a nail-biting finish… 🥇 Everglades High – 168 🥈 South Broward – 167 One push-up made the difference! Shoutout to all cadets who represented with discipline, pride, and excellence.
