France, Spain and Norway all have wealth taxes on the very richest. Britain doesn't. With public services crumbling and food banks at record demand, should those sitting on tens of millions be asked to contribute more - or would it just drive wealth offshore?

Labour doesn’t seem to realise that offering failed asylum seekers £40,000 to leave creates a £40,000 incentive to come to Britain to be a failed asylum seeker

Elon Musk on him soon becoming a trillionaire: “It really just represents percentage ownership in companies that I built. It’s not like it’s sitting in a bank account. The companies are doing lots of useful things, the value of the companies grows, I own a percentage of those companies, and it sums up to that number, which seems high.”

Watch closely. As Pete Hegseth deplanes, he’s greeted by a group of soldiers. Hegseth salutes each one of them, except for the Black man. Seems very on brand for this administration.

@benonwine How about parents start smacking their kids for dropping litter? Like when I grew up in the 70s teaching people not to drop litter in the first place. I agree with the principle of not giving people something for nothing let’s get them out cutting old peoples grass

“Genuine question… If someone is claiming benefits and is able to work, is it really unreasonable to ask them to do a few hours a week helping the community? Even something simple like litter picking or cleaning up local parks.” What are your Thoughts?

This is misinformation from Reeves. The UK government could lower energy bills tomorrow by reducing the 78% tax on extra profits of oil and gas companies. And scrapping carbon levies, Net Zero contributions, and renewable subsidies on your bills! They could fix it … they just won’t.

I heard this headline on the radio earlier and thought there is no way this could be true. The UK is to offer £10,000 per person (up to £40,000 for a family) for asylum seekers whose claims are rejected to return home. So, if you are someone sitting in Calais, wanting to enter the UK, you could take the risk of crossing and be accepted: a life of benefits and accommodation awaits you. Or you could be rejected and you get £10,000 to take back to your country. Watch them come in droves…..

£40,000 for breaking into Britain. The Home Secretary has announced a trial scheme where families of failed asylum seekers will be offered up to £40,000 as an incentive to leave the UK. This is disgraceful. Taxpayers money should not be used to pay for leaving gifts for people who broke into our country illegally. I’ve written to the Home Secretary to express my opposition to this shameful idea.
