moved my local llm stack, running Qwen 3.5 9B Q4_K_M, over to ollama and token speed jumped from ~5-10 tok/s to 31 tok/s on the same 8GB VRAM PC. bonkers! i thought i was hard-capped mainly by hardware. turns out the inference stack was the real bottleneck. model runtime, kernel efficiency, memory movement, kv cache handling, quantization behavior, and how cleanly the model is compiled and executed locally all change the final throughput in a very very real way. same hardware. 5-6x faster! hell yeah more hacking underway :)

Excited to introduce these models, a major step forward from our earliest versions. They were trained on diverse crop datasets, with strong representation from Ghana and other growing regions, to better support real field conditions. These models will serve as the foundation for our next generation of farmer tools as we expand from software into edge devices, hardware, and robotics. Support for more crops is already on the way.

At Okuafo Foundation, our work has always started with farmers: protecting harvests, improving livelihoods, and making practical support easier to reach. Together with Sinuosity AI, we’ve built a family of crop intelligence models for real field conditions: maize, tomato, cassava, cocoa, pepper, and cabbage. They are designed to support farmers even in places where internet access is limited, with models that can run locally on edge devices and deliver fast crop-health insights in the field. For farmers with connectivity, the experience can go further with extended support, deeper guidance, and additional tools for decision-making.

Farming has a global labor crisis and @776foundation climate fellow @oxncgen is building the fix — autonomous robots that plant, spray, weed, and monitor crops. Real hardware, real fields. @3farmatebots is building from Ghana for the world!

Korra fans going to bed after watching the new Avatar movie and realizing Korra is still no where close to being good as Aang.

We worked on the aang movie for years with the expectation that’d we’d get to celebrate all of our hard work in theaters.. just to see people unceremoniously leak the film and pass our shots around on twitter like candy.. (1/3)
