A great night at the Strangford DUP Dinner in La Mon House Hotel. It was a pleasure to meet Reform MP Robert Jenrick and hear him speak so passionately about his plans and his commitment to Northern Ireland. Encouraging to see that strong interest in our place within the Union.

I welcome the removal of these murals. Our community has moved forward, and while history should never be ignored, we must continue building a peaceful, respectful and shared future. East Belfast should be defined by opportunity, growth, and community spirit, not the past.

Notorious east Belfast UVF mural will be removed as part of loyalist transitioning project belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-… belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-…

4 years on 💔 I remember my colleague but more importantly my friend Christopher Stalford his wisdom, guidance and humour is greatly missed. His family will be upmost in my thoughts today.

Great news for football I am delighted to see the new 4G intermediate pitch at Bloomfield FC, Having worked alongside the club for years, it’s brilliant to see this investment Thanks to Belfast City Council’s pitches strategy, a boost for grassroots sport & our local community

Statement from DUP Group at Belfast City Council We are appalled to hear of an apparent attack on council staff in Belfast City Centre last night. We are urgently seeking full details of this incident. Any assault on council staff is utterly unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Council workers are on the front line delivering essential services to the public, and they should be able to do so without fear of abuse, intimidation, or violence. Those responsible for such actions must be held fully accountable. Our thoughts are with the staff members involved, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.

Of course the first to defence of this decision and those that want to see anything to do with Northern Ireland at all destroyed is the Alliance Party it comes as no surprise to many of us that this is the position they adopt

The Ulster banner hasn’t be used as an official flag for Northern Ireland since 1973. It makes sense that the flag will not be used to represent Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games.

The decision to scrap the Ulster Banner as the flag for Northern Ireland athletes is wrong. It erases a long established symbol under which NI has competed with pride for decades. This isn’t progress it’s cultural dilution that risks division, not unity.

Remembering David Ervine, former East Belfast councillor and MLA for the Progressive Unionist Party. A fearless, intelligent voice who challenged orthodoxy and spoke for working-class communities. His legacy still resonates today.

This draft Budget is John O’Dowd’s alone. It hasn’t been agreed by the Executive and isn’t supported by the DUP. We recognise real pressures, but Sinn Féin’s choices are flawed. We won’t back a Budget that sidelines frontline services especially education, while waste continues.

Another special meeting. Another dose of political nonsense. People want Belfast City Council focused on Belfast bins, rates, sports pitches, facilities, and services that actually work. Not virtue signalling and time wasting. Put Belfast first.

At tonight’s special meeting of Belfast City Council I challenged the legitimacy of what can only be described as a sham meeting. This was rushed, politically motivated and showed a complete disregard for proper process and transparency. Belfast deserves better than this carry on

This photo says everything. In 1932, Rabbi Akiva Posner and his wife Rachel placed their menorah in the window of their home in Kiel, Germany, directly across from a Nazi headquarters flying the swastika. Rachel took this photo and wrote on the back: "Our light will outlast their flag." She was right. The Nazis are gone. We are still here. This is what it means to be Jewish. To light in defiance. To never bow.

Voted for the flag at the November Council meeting, then U turned at the council in December. Voted against the proposal to light up city hall blue and white for Israel in the aftermath of October 7th massacre, but happy to vote for Palestine hypocrisy overload here.
Eóin Tennyson MLA@EoinTennyson

1. The flag of Palestine is not a terrorist flag, but that of a State recognised by the UK Government. 2. Our group opposed flying the Palestinian flag at City Hall, instead proposing to light buildings so as to be consistent with expressions of interbational solidarity in the past, e.g. Oct 7th, solidarity with ppl of Ukraine, etc.
