@alexinglephoto My condolences Alex. It is a hazard we face every time we go offshore and whilst I have missed many birthdays and anniversaries, I have never had a bereavement. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

100 years. Today would have been my nan’s centenary—a milestone she only just missed, but one that speaks to a life long and full. She was sharp and strong-minded, knitted more blankets than we ever knew what to do with, and formed an unbreakable bond with her great-grandchildren—who adored her just as much as she adored them. She passed while I was in Antarctica, a world away from home, but she’s still here—woven into memories, the family she built, and the photos that hold her cheeky smile.

@PhoebeSleath I’ve read that it’s mostly the west coast that has lots of midges. Is this true? I’m looking at moving to the east coast.
