Uh, @BuschGardensVA, WTF? Why is an American flag flying over Heatherdowns, Scotland? No idea why a flag pole was installed here at all, but flying an American flag in a BGW hamlet is an instant, inexcusable, no.

Adding a permanent, confusing, thematically-conflicting, in-your-face, prominent American flag to a hamlet permanently to benefit that once per day tradition few guests know about/see though? Madness.

@brainbrew @BuschGardensVA The flag was just added to Heatherdowns. The park existed for 50 years without this. How is that tradition? Also, Bald Eagles are in the Wild Reserve, not Killarney. Seems like you are exactly the customer who would benefit from BGW not confusing guests with conflicting theming.

@BGWFans @BuschGardensVA It’s been a tradition at the park for nearly 50 years. Calling it “inexcusable” feels a bit dramatic. It’s an American flag in an American theme park. Next thing you’ll be saying is the Bald Eagles need to be removed from Ireland.

@BGWFans @BuschGardensVA I completely disagree. This is purely to improve the guest first impression. If you want to say they should raise it for the anthem and then lower it, maybe I could hear that. But that's probably not proper flag protocol.

@BGWFans @BuschGardensVA This is where people gather at rope drop when they play the national anthem. This gives them an American flag to face during the anthem. (And hey, the Virginia food both that goes there isn’t exactly Scottish either 😊). I’ve alway considered that specific area “neutral.”

@zstrasbaugh @BuschGardensVA No idea, but I'm sorta guessing not. Seems more difficult to accomplish when there's an animatronic setup for the drop track. Would love to see the idea implemented across the hamlet at DarKoaster though. It will probably need the Forbidden Turn treatment before too long.

@scorpio13096 @TPRBrandon Yeah, don't dig the name. Verbolten is a play on the German word for "forbidden," "verboten." In essence, they named it "Forbidden: Forbidden Turn." Not a fan of "Turn" either. Someone on ParkFans suggested "Detour" which I definitely prefer. Verbolten: Dark Detour?

Response to Nessie blew corporate's projections out of the water & has allowed BGW the ability to take more similar risks than its siblings. Returns just have to keep flowin'.
