Yet another Western intelligence-orchestrated scandal, manufactured to destabilise the Hungarian election. The recordings themselves reveal nothing particularly egregious: routine diplomatic exchanges between representatives of two sovereign states. The real scandal lies elsewhere: in the fact that Western/NATO intelligence services were wiretapping the Hungarian foreign minister’s phone, and are now laundering those recordings through intelligence-linked, state-funded front organisations like VSquare, with the explicit aim of preventing Orbán’s re-election or delegitimising it after the fact. The strategy is transparent: construct a narrative of “stolen” or “illegitimate” elections, then use it to marginalise — or worse — one of the few governments that refuses to toe the European war party’s line. But Hungary is merely the immediate target. The longer-term goal is to weaponise the Orbán precedent to finally abolish the unanimity rule in EU foreign policy decisions, completing the consolidation of the Euro-Atlantic oligarchic class over the continent.

Today they have made a new “major discovery”: they proved that I say the same publicly as I do on the phone. Nice work! For four years we have been saying that sanctions are a failure, causing more harm to the EU than to Russia. Hungary will never agree to sanction individuals or companies essential for our energy security, for achieving peace, or those with no reason to be on a sanctions list.
