The British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa supports genealogy research by people with ancestry in England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales.




Ireland will be divided into the four historical provinces, and further sub-divided into six groupings of counties. There will be two Zoom breakout rooms each for Ulster and Leinster, and one each for Connacht and Munster. /2


Are you looking for genealogical information specific to a region in Ireland? On October 27, at 9 a.m. EDT, experts in Irish genealogy resources will be available to answer your questions, face-to-face, in small groups. /1

At 10 a.m. EDT Barbara Tose will reprise her story of the adventures her great-grand-aunt Nellie had in Britain and Europe during the summer of 1914. Barbara weaves the news from Nellie’s letter to her brother with the momentous events of that summer leading to the start of WW I.
