It provided not only a fiercely competitive arena but also an important platform to promote and raise the profile of boccia in that part of the world. One of the standout moments of the competition came from Mongolia’s T. Munkhdemberel, who captured the silver medal in BC1 . . .

The Manama 2025 World Boccia Challenger tournament in Bahrain was a huge success. Staged from 19–23 April at the Isa bin Rashid Sports Hall in Manama, the tournament featured 14 nations, more than 70 athletes and 97 officials from around the world . . .

Congratulations to all finalists at the Santiago 2025 World Boccia Challenger event. Here's a flavour of the action - the shots of the day from the Men's BC3 final, where Brazil's Mateus Carvalho beat Canada's Alexandre Lemaire. Incredible accuracy from both players!

. . . They roared back in the fifth end with some brilliant play from Zayana, to make it 7-3. In the final end, Syafa managed to deliver three points for Indonesia but China just about hung on to claim a 7-6 victory and their first team gold medal.

. . . Some brilliant shot making from Yan, China’s captain, enabled them to surge into a 7-0 lead. But the Indonesian team of Gischa Zayana, Felix Ardi Yudha and Muhamad Afrizal Syafa were not done . . .

Yan is the Man! It’s time to conclude our look back at the Paris Paralympic Games by recalling the the final event of the tournament, the BC1/BC2 Team competition, which was won by China . . .

. . . Both Edilson and Leidy landed some deadly heavy blows in the early stages to go into a 6-0 lead and although Hong Kong got on the scoreboard, they eventually went down, 6-1. It was a second medal for Edilson Chica, who had won silver in the men’s BC4 competition.

... The Colombians were the reigning world champions and they proved why they are such a powerful duo. They were up against Hong Kong pair Leung Yuk Wing and Cheung Yuen, who had knocked out Canada in the semi-finals . . .

Day 10 Colombia’s Family Fortunes! As we near the end of a our look back to Paris 2024, we turn to the BC4 pairs final and the incredible Colombian brother-sister combination of Edilson and Leidy Chica.

. . . They beat South Korea's Jeong Ho-won and Kang Sun-hee 5-3 in an absorbing final. The Hong Kong China pair raced into a 3-0 lead - were pegged back at 3-3 by Jeong and Kang - but then rallied again with some deadly accurate shot-making to take the title.

Day 9 . . . Ho Yuen Kei had already claimed one solo triumph - winning the women’s BC3 individuals and now the Hong Kong China athlete struck gold again. This time, Ho came out on top with teammate Tse Tak-wah as Hong Kong China won a third gold medal in the BC3 mixed pairs.

Day 9 Ho steals the show! It’s time to turn to the team events as we look back at the boccia finals at the Paris Paralympic Games, six months on . . .
