It was a tough first day for Sheffield at the CNW 1st Grade GF, with Ulverstone getting to stumps at 6-282 (Pearce 96, Walmsley 46, Kelly 41, Blair 41). But there was some joy for the Mountaineers with captain/coach Marc Simonds taking this blinder at mid-wicket to get Pearce.

Cricket North West grand finalists are set with Ulverstone and Sheffield to meet for the second straight season after winning their semi-finals this weekend. Ulverstone defeated Devonport by 82 runs, while Sheffield overcame a stubborn Burnie by 62 runs.
