What this administration is doing to civil rights in America is deeply distressing — and we have to say so clearly. The Trump DOJ has rolled back enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. They've changed the standard so that discrimination now has to be proven "intentional" before the government will act. That sounds technical. It isn't. It means communities that have faced systemic, structural discrimination for generations are now on their own. This is part of a broader pattern: gutting civil rights protections, dismantling oversight, and daring us to prove that any of it was deliberate. We know what this is. The abuses of power, the blatant self-enrichment and corruption, while the American people face all-time high prices for rent and groceries and a meal out at a restaurant and the power bill — the people have had enough.
