A one-day prescribed burn is planned Mar 4 in the East Tintic Mountains near Vernon & Eureka. Crews will burn just under 50 acres of subalpine & Douglas-fir piles from 2024 fuels treatments. Smoke may be visible along Hwy 36 & Hwy 6, linger into Fri, and affect Hwy 36 overnight.

Crews plan to burn slash piles in East Canyon, about 10 miles northeast of Monticello and 15 miles south of La Sal. If weather lines up, work could begin Tuesday, Nov. 18 and continue at intervals through the winter whenever conditions allow.

Starting Monday, August 24 at 8 AM, BLM-managed roads and lands around the Monroe Canyon Fire will reopen. Forest Service roads closed during the fire remain closed. Travel on Monroe Mountain and the surrounding Forest Service lands is still prohibited.

Today, in partnership with @UTStateParks, we finalized the transfer of more than 600 acres of BLM-managed land to @AntelopeIslandStatePark and @WasatchMountainStatePark. Parcels transferred either sit within existing park boundaries or directly connect to them. #UtahPublicLands
