@comicsexplained Last comment: Thanos has been shown destroying planets without the Infinity Gauntlet. Apocalypse is of course a planetary level threat in the Marvel Universe (comics) but don’t put him on the cosmic level characters.

@comicsexplained To your point: with The Age of Apocalypse, we've seen what he is capable of doing when Apocalypse wants to truly rule the world. Little to no one has a chance of standing in his way.

Go ahead and ask Grok if Apocalypse can take Surfer. He can’t. You have a being that has been banished from DEATH before. It’s really simple: Cosmic level threats are different than planetary level threats. Surfer has literally survived explosions that have destroyed planets…and can’t defeat Thanos all the time. But Apocalypse is a threat? Stop it.

He’s routinely beaten the Silver Surfer. If you think Apocalypse beats the Surfer you are insane. Here are some quick google images. Never mind that he is/was a direct comparison with Darkseid . I can show images of Apocalypse being defeated by lower level characters. You literally named sagas that Apocalypse has nothing worthy of matching in his background.

The guys page is COMICS explained. Not TV shows. Now, I can bring up fucking Dracula almost going toe to toe with Apocalypse. There are shit stories for everyone. Galactic level heroes are on a different scale than Marvel heroes. Ask anyone if Ikaris is a match for Thanos. No. Again, clarify if you are talking about MCU or comic accurate Thanos.

@jefecollins @comicsexplained If we are talking COMICS, which is what we are discussing you are insane. Just say you don’t read the comics. Please separate the two. Outside of random crappy ass writers Thanos has literally taken on God level beings without the gauntlet.

@NEEMOAHTOAD Reading the comments in this thread proves you right. I guess I’m easily trolled because if I see a book that literally says don’t read it…guess what? I’m not fucking reading it. And that’s before you tell me it has a skin like texture and appears to be written in blood.

I understand. I'm not saying it's supposed to be a cakewalk for Magneto. But, outside of him wrapping him in metal and throwing him...he was getting owned by pre-powered En Sabah Nur. Maybe we can say he was holding back...but there are few mutants that you want to piss off more than Magneto. I remember reading that book when it came out. Before the Celestial upgrade...En Sabah Nur shouldn't be able to handle that team of X-Men that easily. That was all I was saying. I understand that they wanted to show a narrative of the inevitabilty of his ascension...so it didn't mess up the show. I just wanted it to show how dangerous those two together should be. Especially when they sent the others back. More of a point showing how the world would be fucked if those two got on the same page. Bishop, Rogue, Magneto and Xavier aren't so easily dispatched.

@BLTDFF @BrunoMellx I have this book and you have to remember during this fight Apacolypse was kicking Magneto's ass and grabbed him and started choking him, so in that moment, Magneto focused all his energy into doing that while Apacolypse was totally consumed in his bloodlust.

Once again I need to speak my mind as a fan and long time reader: I don't like the X-Men being paradoxically involved in Apocalypse's creation, I don't like the convenient writing on everyone's powers not working against base En Sabah Nur... but I do think this bit was fire

@Spuck469 @BrunoMellx I said Magneto in combat with Apocalypse. One of Apocalypse’s weaknesses is against powerful psychic attacks. The idea in this series that the Professor has to almost ask people to enter their minds is crazy work.

I actually did. Every time he faces someone that is a threat he starts the morning/screaming bit. In the comics when he said enough with Magnus….he wiped his framing mind. He placed psychic blocks to contain a cosmic entity for decades…put some respect on his ability. Apocalypse’s rage is too much for him to read past? Stop it.

Also kind of tired of Professor X not being the single most powerful telepath outside of cosmic powered Jean Grey. Start putting some respect on Xavier's name. The combination of Xavier and Magneto vs Apocalypse should have been a FAR closer contest. Especially when they decided not to hold back. We literally just watched Magneto just mess over the entire WORLD with the "Enough."

@Mirage4Rivals @jayspectrumX I’ve always loved Arthur Adam’s artwork. There are so many great arcs for this…don’t over think it and don’t rush the storylines. Easy 4-8 seasons of streaming and easily 3 big budget movies. Use the streaming series to touch on the stories that build to the “event” films.

@KonssnoK @michaeljburry Exactly my thoughts as well. How can one “like” a tool so much and still feel that a lot of this stuff is overblown? I always like the analogy of Amazon and the 2000 recession. No one knows who will be the winner…or even if there will be a winner.

Again…I respect your ball knowledge. I just respect Art Monk for other reasons and like respect placed on their names. Your data/ball knowledge is respected. Again Evans is a bonafide HOF. Sometimes these Twitter streets have you defending a position that you become more “emotional” about instead of acknowledging information. Have a good weekend.

Funny: it says here that Jerry Rice was the all-time leader in receptions when Art Monk retired (and Monk played in week 17 of 1995). He was also 16th in touchdowns (2nd among pass catchers named Art) and 33rs in yards per game (3rd among pass catchers named Art). Monk caught 65 of the 299 (22%) Redskin passing TDs from 1980 to 1993 Evans caught 108 of 373 (29%) despite playing in more 3 and 4 WR sets (the posse was didn’t become their primary formation until Sanders’ 2nd or 3rd year).

Mike Evans in his prime wouldn't even be TODAY'S best receiver on the Rams, let alone all time (Torry Holt). Antonio Gates was a better receiver for the Chargers (even as a TE), same story with Ozzie Newsome on the Browns. Andre Reed of the Bills, Sterling Sharpe of the Packers, Largent for the Seahawks, Brown for the Raiders, Rod Smith on the Broncos, Collinsworth on the Bengals, Gifford on the Giants, Maynard or Toon on the Jets, Duper on the Dolphins, Jeffries or Givens on the Oilers, Monk on the Redskins, Smith on the Jags, Rison on the Falcons, Carmichael on the Eagles, Fitz on the Cards, Harrison on the Colts, Irvin on the Cowboys, Ward or Swann on the Steelers. In other words, I don't know who this guy is but he doesn't know shit about football.

This argument will simply lead to more people using other avenues that are significantly cheaper to enjoy the movies and shows they want. You are pushing people toward ways they always CLAIM they don’t want people to use. Spotify worked because it was easier than downloading pirated content. You change that then you change what people will do.

If you buy a digital movie from Amazon, you might lose it if Amazon stops existing or if some legal issue causes them to stop being able to host it (this is rare and they will probably refund or credit you something). If you buy a movie on a disk, it is stuck on a piece of contemporary technology that will likely be out of date at some point in the somewhat distant but foreseeable future. Either scenario is likely to result in you losing access to the movie or buying it again. I bought a hundreds of DVDs and 1080p BluRays between around 2000 and 2012 because I was persuaded by what I perceived as the permanence of “ownership” of the movies. The DVD format is now outdated and inferior to newer digital formats that have eight times the video resolution and superior audio. The next generation of game consoles will not have an optical disk reader, so I will have to buy and maintain dedicated hardware if I want to maintain access these legacy formats (or at least keep my PS5 around). I haven’t watched most of my DVDs in years, and when I want to watch these movies, I often access them through streamers rather than on these disks. The permanency of ownership these objects promised was illusory. I am sentimentally attached to the collection and hesitant to get rid of it, but I now think it was a mistake to buy most of this stuff in the first place. If you buy a digital license for a movie from a source that will continue to maintain a digital archive that is state of the art for at least the medium-term future, that’s probably a better deal than buying it on a media format that will be obsolete in the medium-term future, even allowing for a possible rug pull. If you love it enough, you will probably end up buying it again one way or another regardless, and if you don’t, you will probably stop caring before they take it away from you.
Led@Raviolo99

@DanFriedman81 I'd rather buy a DVD/blu ray disc knowing that someday it will stop working, than rely on money hungry companies who can just decide whether or not I get to play a movie/game I've already paid for.

@MisterPatrick1 Again…Evans is a HOF. But this constant need to crap on the legendary players from before. He retired as the all time leader in receptions. You are comparing touchdowns from a league where the rules and environment are completely different.

How could I ever have forgotten that Art Monk was the linchpin of the Redskins’ 4 Super Bowl runs? Oh, wait: He contributed 0 in 1982, got shut down when they lost in 1983, caught 1 pass in 1987, and finally delivered in 1991. Not exactly exceptional. Evans also has averaged nearly a whole yard per target more and nearly doubled Monk in terms of touchdowns.
