We study a lot of things, including the localization of institutional support in an abstract space of behavior and cost.

Last ago we started a Maine x Vermont collab looking at the spread of adaptations to climate change. I learned a ton thanks to @tmwaring @MeredithNiles1 Nick Gotelli, Brian McGill and others. We distilled some of our conversations in a theoretical model: arxiv.org/abs/2109.08106.

We lost a member of our research team to COVID this week. Someone that I only ever met in the pandemic era, had spent hours with, but only ever on voice calls. I never saw his face. The scale of mortality in the US has been desensitizing and dehumanizing.

Booked in for a medical procedure early Feb. I'm to get a PCR test 3 days before and then isolate. I'm 90% sure it would be more accurate if I took a RAT upon arrival instead. I also wouldn't use up PCR resources.
Is there logic in this?
