The last 3 years I've done a social media report on the NFL Draft Prospects. This year, the numbers are staggering. I'm in a big chicken or the egg conundrum. The social following is drastically lower this year than the previous 2. Is this because it's a "bad" draft class? or Is the fact that they're not active on social the reason why there's less buzz around the prospects? or Is there real fatigue amongst kids and social media? In 2024, I picked 15 prospects, their pre-draft IG Following totaled: 2.39M In 2025, I picked 14 prospects, their following: 5.9M (Shedeur and Travis Hunter combined for 4.1M) In 2026, I'm looking at 21 guys and they're at: 3.0M with Mendoza sporting 33% of the total following Is this platform falling out of favor with the kids? Carnell Tate has 31,200 followers, the most in the class. In '24 and '25, 10 guys had a larger following than Tate. None of the prospects have a YouTube channel. And Tik Tok activity is the lowest I've ever seen. Only 6 of the 21 had Tik Toks with over 10K followers and not a single one besides Diego Pavia is active. Could be something, could be nothing. If you're an NFL agent or marketing person reading this, make sure your client's socials are easy to find. Last year, Jaxson Dart gained 103K IG followers on draft night, Will Campbell gained 62K! Cooper DeJean gained 39K in '24 and Drake Maye gained 132K across IG and X Biggest night of the year for these kids and Arvell Reese and Reuben Bain's accounts are hard to find! Happy NFL Draft. I'll be writing a follow up with followers gained, so follow me @jacksettleman for more
