Intern Tyler met a girl a couple of months ago. He recently picked her up from the airport. She lives out of state and goes to college in Iowa. First time he has scooped her up in his car. He drives a 2000 Ford Taurus he bought for $800 that has more duck tape than paint. His welding equipment in his trunk is worth double the car. We had a windchill of negative a million. I asked him if he wanted to take my car (2-hour drive). Immediate no. "My car is a battleship, we'll make it. She's not dating the car, she's dating me. No reason to fake the car I drive." I was more concerned about his safety, but damnit, his response resonated with me. Dude is an absolute unicorn. Knows absolutley nothing about golf. But man he loves making putters. Goes to college full time, works two jobs at 40+ hours a week. Work ethic of a lion. We aren't where we are today without Intern Tyler.
