@neumanmd I always thought avoidance of GA was also due to a high incidence of airway difficulty in pregnant patients

Evidence base supporting rigid avoidance of GA in elective c/s for o/w healthy patient is tremendously weak. Without clear, definitive evidence of benefit/harm, denying choices to patients is wrong. OB Anesthesia time to step up and do some RCTs.

@LondonAnaesth Thanks for your interest in our study! Headsets were cleaned with the "grey top" sani-cloth wipes between patients, FYI. Patients with active infections of the face or scalp etc were excluded.

Wearing a Virtual Reality headset during hand surgery under local+sedation reduced propofol dose and PACU length of stay, without negatively impacting key patient reported outcomes. Though no mention of how the headsets were cleaned between patients journals.plos.org/plosone/articl…
