Escaped from snowbound, powerless Cape Cod to civilization.

Somebody tell me where I can find the biggest snow pile and give me your best guess as to when it will melt. Best I could do was this mountain range here. Betting we don’t see it completely gone until early April.

@amarkowitzWX I don’t see it as taboo, I just want it standardized so different companies aren’t calling the same storm by different names. As long as the name stays attached to one company, it’s marketing not messaging. Just imo.

I know that naming winter storms is taboo to many since it's not NWS official, but in my experience in the private sector, it's utilized much more than people think. Many businesses use the names to make decisions and assign policies. Also done in Europe. Some food for thought...

You can’t convince me the massive piles as a kid didn’t have an influence on you wanting to be a weather weenie. Building mini tunnel and caves and climbing them. Make sure to build them for ya kids so they can pass it on to theirs as well. As much as the snow removal is tough at times imo to have those experiences is so worth it

@jenrara Depends on metrics, not age. Snowfall beat ‘78 in some areas, not in others. The biggest thing was the coast. In 78, giant waves over multiple high tide cycles demolished homes. Also, many more died in 78. It’s not a contest, just numbers.

Should we start a collection of Rhode Island and Massachusetts parents refusing to admit we finally had a storm worse than the Blizzard of ‘78?

@SurfSkiWeather @tony_tpetrarca Wow. Swear words. I wonder that too about all the 30s around me. I measured all over my yard yesterday, neighbor measured too and we got 22 or 23” top end. Yet sharon, Easton, foxboro, attleboro, norton all are 31”+? Bro

getting quite a bit of skepticism re snowfall amounts in Blizzard Triangle yesterday further research seems warranted did you happen to measure it @tony_tpetrarca here's a note from a friend of ours here just south of Boston, we got about 20" pretty much same snow band

The same exact weather that occurred 48 years ago in February 1978 is apparently caused by climate change today. The ignorance and arrogance of climate alarmists never cease to amaze me.

This is unbelievable. It's back to snowing about 2 in an hour again in Brockton
