@sportyspicce Injuries play a role too. Milwaukee may have repeated if Middleton didn't get injured.

The thing about repeating in this league is I understand why dynasties don’t really exist anymore. It’s the money side of things. It’s hard to re-sign guys and run the same team back.. But what I’ve learned in this era is a lot of teams don’t repeat outside of that fact because they don’t actually upgrade. They either get worse or just run the same roster back and eventually teams figure you out. For the Knicks I don’t think repeating is impossible at all. I just think it comes down to continuously upgrading what we already have. And since we don’t need to touch the starters or bring in anyone that changes the starting lineup (aka Lebron) the only place that really matters is the bench. That’s where the upgrades have to happen. Give me the best possible available pieces to strengthen the second unit. Simple.
