Bobby Lashley sounded off on WWE's release of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods on Good Karma Wrestling, calling the move a fumble. "That was a fumble. That was a fumble. Bro, you retire those guys. You take those guys to the end and give them whatever they want, because they've given the business everything," Lashley said. "This is a horrible move also. But it can be a great move for someone else. The tag team division might become really, really, really strong and interesting in AEW." Lashley also predicted "a tremendous amount of fans" would follow the New Day to AEW. Kofi spent roughly 20 years with WWE, Woods around 16, before their May 2 exits. #WWE #BobbyLashley #NewDay #AEW #ProWrestling

Bobby Lashley strongly criticized WWE’s handling of The New Day’s departures, calling it “a fumble. That was a fumble.” He argued they should have been treated differently because of their legacy, saying “you retire those guys. You take those guys to the end and give them whatever they want because they’ve given the business everything.” He also defended their reputation in the industry, noting “I don’t think there’s a person in the business that says, ‘Hey man, I don’t like those guys,’” or that “those guys treated me wrong,” stressing their universal respect backstage. Lashley compared it to past WWE mistakes, adding “we saw that one time before when somebody else got released… they had to bring him back because they were like, ‘Oh, this is a bad move.’” He believes this situation could have similar fallout, calling it “a horrible move also,” though he admitted “it could be a great move for someone else.” He also speculated on the broader impact, saying “we might see some different mix-ups in the tag team division,” and even suggested it could strengthen another promotion: “it might become really, really strong and interesting in AEW.” Lashley finished by pointing to possible fan backlash, stating “a tremendous amount of fans will go over there” and questioning the business itself: “isn’t this business built on respect?” and “if you have respect for the business… these guys should have a lot of respect in the business.” Source: Good Karma Wrestling

Bobby Lashley comments on Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods leaving WWE: “It’s one of those things where it’s like, that was a fumble. That was a fumble. You retire those guys. You take those guys to the end and give them whatever they want because they’ve given the business everything. I don’t think there’s a person in the business that says, ‘Hey man, I don’t like those guys,” or ‘Those guys treated me wrong,’ or “Those guys weren’t good to me.” There’s no one. And we saw that one time before when somebody else got released, right? When somebody else got released, they had to bring him back because they were like, ‘Oh, this is a bad move.’ This is a horrible move also, but it could be a great move for someone else. So at the end of the day, we might see some different mix-ups in the tag team division. It might become really, really strong and interesting in AEW. And if so, a tremendous amount of fans will go over there because they’ll start kind of saying, ‘Hmm, what’s going on? Isn’t this business built on respect? And if you have respect for the business, you have respect for the people in the business, and these guys should have a lot of respect in the business. So what’s going on?’” (@GKW_Wrestling)
