A wrong war in the first place A fundamental issue I raised in articles published in the late 1980s is this: why did the Lebanese Government, only five years after Lebanon’s independence in 1943, enter the war against Israel in May 1948? Israel did not invade Lebanon after declaring independence pursuant to the UN Resolution recommending the creation of two states in British Mandate Palestine. Who asked the Lebanese Government to order the Lebanese Army into the Galilee? There were no indications that the Lebanese people wanted war, nor that Lebanon’s national security or sovereignty were under threat. Was Lebanon drawn into the conflict simply because the Arab League, established in 1945, collectively declared war on Israel and Lebanon was a member? This historical reality deserves serious reflection and condemnation. The state of war should be ended unilaterally. Entering that war was a legal and historic mistake that needs to be addressed.

Memorial Day Message of Remembrance and Resolve

My remarks on a panel on @NEWSMAX on Iran and Cuba. I suggested to subcontract the removal of the regime to the Iranian people. We support them and they deliver. On Cuba I argued that youth on the island is increasingly opting for freedom. I suggested to finish the Iran dossier first and revert to Cuba.

If money is to be sent to IRAN, it should be billions (Iranian frozen money) to the families of the 50k Iranians massacred by the regime. And the families of the Iranians assassinated and executed by the regime. Not a dollar to the regime...
