BSM Year 3

In humanities we have been learning about Roman Towns and we had fun working collaboratively to build our own models! We had to include features such as the forum, amphitheater and the bathhouse! @BSMuscatHeadPri @PrincipalMuscat

We visited the senior school art exhibition! We were so impressed by the amazing artwork on display, and we are looking forward to our work being in the exhibition when we are in senior school!

In Year 3 we have been learning about how to tell the time. We need to look closely at the hour and the minute hand in order to tell the time accurately! @BSMuscatHeadPri @PrincipalMuscat @BSMuscatPrimary

We have been investigating magnets and carrying out fair tests to find out which magnets were the strongest. @PrincipalMuscat @BSMuscatHeadPri @BSMuscatPrimary

We have been having fun learning about volume and capacity in maths. We are becoming more confident in reading scales and measuring accurately. @BSMuscatHeadPri @BSMuscatPrimary @PrincipalMuscat

We linked our science and art lessons and made some wonderful shadow puppets! We used our imaginations to create interesting and unique creatures. @BSMuscatPrimary @BSMuscatHeadPri @PrincipalMuscat

Year 3 are starting to #link all of the information they have found out so far about the history of BSM. They created superb questions for ex pupils to find out more and look at the #bigpicture. Thank you to our previous learners for helping with new learning. @BSMuscatPrimary

In art this week we followed instructions from @chrismouldink to draw our very own Iron Man! The children were very proud of their fantastic drawings! @PrincipalMuscat @BSMuscatHeadPri @BSMuscatPrimary

We have been investigating soil in Year 3! We looked closely at what happened when we mixed soil and water and left it in a bottle for two days. We found that the mixture had separated into different layers! @BSMuscatPrimary @BSMuscatHeadPri @PrincipalMuscat

Today we had so much fun making Moving Monsters on our DT day! We designed monsters to scare away the Iron Man, who has been spotted near BSM. All our monsters moved using pneumatics! @BSMuscatHeadPri @PrincipalMuscat @BSMuscatPrimary

We have been investigating soil in our science lessons in Year 3! We have looked carefully at the different materials we can find in the soil. @BSMuscatPrimary @PrincipalMuscat @BSMuscatHeadPri

Using our map, rock and compass skills, we explored Bowsher Wadi and applied all our prior knowledge to find out more about our local environment in our host country. #bigpicturethinking #fieldwork #education

Year 3 have enjoyed looking at various OS maps, becoming familiar with what each symbol represents and if it is a human or physical feature. We decided on places we would like to live due to what is around that location and explained why! #analysing #bigpicturethinking
