BSM Year 4

"I can't wait for secondary!" was overheard after our visit to the secondary science labs today for a lesson in forensics led by Ms. Mitchell. The children used their inference and investigative skills to figure out who had eaten the missing sandwich! #inquisitive #wearebsm

As part of our DT & Humanties topic, Y4 were treated to an Indian cooking class from some of our lovely parent volunteers. They made Bombay aloo and fruit chaat. It was so lovely for them to try some new foods. #resilience #curious #everyonecan

How do switches work? In Year 4 we’ve created our own switches using card, split pins and paper clips. Then, we tested them in a circuit to see if they could start and stop the flow of electricity! #primaryscience #everyonecan @PrincipalMuscat @BSMuscatHeadPri

Yesterday Y4 celebrated all things Indian as part of their topic on India. They danced, sang, planned a holiday to India for Mr. Vacher and ate delicious food prepared by Woodlands Restaurant. We are grateful to the children from India for sharing their culture with us. #DEIJB

Money, money, money! Year 4 have been getting to grips with money in our Maths learning. Using manipulatives has really helped them figure out the value of the coins and notes used in the UK. #connectionfinding #motivated

Our birdhouses are complete and ready to house some birds. The children have measured, clamped, sawed, sanded, glued, painted and decorated. They are so proud of the final result. #everyonecan #strategyplanning #originality

Pi is actually an irrational number (a decimal with no end and no repeating pattern) that is most often approximated with the decimal 3.14. It was Pi Day on March 14th and some of the Y4 students challenged themselves to recall as many of the digits as possible. #automaticity
