Local teams have been forced to play out of town as there’s no other pitches available.

Protect Grass Roots Football ⚽️ It’s no secret that Sunday League sides are folding at an alarming rate. It’s no secret that this also coincides with less available pitches and costs growing year upon year. It’s been announced that @lutoncouncil will be raising the hire of grass pitches to almost £77 per match which is an almost 20% rise on the current pitch hire cost. On top of this, the match official is paid £40/£45 (dependant on competition). Football at this level should NOT cost almost £120 per week. Grass roots football should be an affordable, fun and social activity, inclusive to everyone and must be protected. @lutoncouncil / @BedsFA , I implore you to reconsider the price increase and look to support grass roots football and what good it does for the local community.
