Someone I know got married the same year I did, and she’s still waiting for her husband in Nigeria. He travelled out shortly after the wedding. I’m already three children in…she has none. These men will marry women, leave them behind for years, then build a whole life elsewhere, sometimes even with children, while expecting the woman at home to remain faithful. If you knew you were going to leave, why get married in the first place? Why put someone else’s life on hold like that?

The reason why OPay is growing faster than PalmPay (even with same structure) is because OPay doesn’t offer loaning service while PalmPay does.

@onu_slim Okash is their loan service and its available on the app. It just that you will actually seek it while palmpay is staring at you immediately you open the app and can mistakenly chose it, if care isn't taken. Someone actually did. She saw loan and can't remember taking it.

I was in someone’s house yesterday to get some files. While waiting, a lady was mopping and then the daughter of the man I had went to meet, poured the Garri water on the floor where it has been mopped. The lady mopping got angry and started to mop the area again. I was actually expecting a brain reset igbaju or igabrun. But no, she didn’t do that. When her mother who didn’t know what has happened came out, she went to her spoilt child and was asking why she was mopping. We are back from Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos, after honouring police invitation based on a petition by the author and publisher of the controversial textbook, Mr. Ayengbe Ebhohimen JB. On Tuesday, 28th April, 2026, I wrote to the AIG in charge of Zone 2 informing him that I’ll be coming with my client today by 1:00 PM. We arrived Zone 2 Command before the stated time and met with officers assigned to investigate the petition written by the author wherein he is alleging “conspiracy”, “criminal defamation”, “offensive publication” and “cyberstalking”. These allegations are utterly baseless and irritating to us. After giving her statement to the police, we met with the AIG in charge of the Zone, AIG Moshood Jimoh. My client, in her written statement and during our meeting with the AIG, reiterated her objection to the obnoxious passage on page 75 of the book which encourages violence and animal cruelty, she also plainly repudiated the concocted allegations against her. At the meeting, we submitted a copy of the book and the preliminary statement made by the Lagos State Government declaring that the said book was not approved by the government for use in schools. After spending more than three hours at Zone 2 Police Command, I departed the Zone with colleagues in chambers and my client, Mrs. Maryqueen Udoka. My client has reunited with her family. However, the complainant failed to show up. We have been asked to return to the Command on Friday, 7th May, 2026 when the author/complainant is expected to be present. Thank you.

This reminded me of a more heartbreaking story. There was this girl who was known to be promiscuous. She had four children while still living in her parents’ house. After her fourth child, she started noticing rashes on her body, lost a lot of weight, and became very weak. She was later told she had HIV. You would think that would make her change, but it didn't She’d leave her baby and go out. Nobody would know where she went. She wouldn’t come back until night. “Where are you coming from?” her family would query. She’d give one name: “I went to look for Emeka.” (Emeka is not the real name of this person, but let’s call him Emeka.) “Why are you looking for Emeka? Isn’t this the second baby he’s denying?” She would insist she was going to him to ask for money to take care of the baby. This kept happening. She kept going to see Emeka, who would deny her pregnancies and disappear, leaving her alone with the children. But at night, she'd come back with no money to a crying baby. I don’t know if Emeka was the one who gave her HIV or if she got it from someone else. But everyone knew she had been infected, yet she was still seeing this said Emeka. She got pregnant again, and Emeka disappeared, this time for good. I never heard about Emeka again. But light shone on them when a wealthy man came to marry her. This is where the story gets more interesting.

Ajo is an endless loop of non profitable savings. To the person packing the Ajo first, zero interest loan. To the person packing last, non profitable savings.

I no fit lie, I spent 460k when I went shopping for baby things in 2024. It’s not like I even bought everything, it’s excluding items like the baby wardrobe, cloth hanger, baby bassinet and electric rocker. If I do the actual math, we must have spent close to 1m. The baby bath set I got 65k then is currently 120k.
