Sweden became strong because previous generations had the courage to build for the next one. They made decisions for decades, not headlines. Decisions were made with a horizon longer than the next quarterly report – and longer than the next election. They built hydropower, grids, district heating and nuclear power – and laid the foundation for the industrial strength which Sweden still benefits from today. Previous generations dared to build big. Now our generation must do the same. We now have applications for around 20 new nuclear reactors. Sweden is making a strong come back as a nuclear nation. Bygg Sverige starkt. Idag tar Sverige emot vår tredje tillståndsansökan. Med den finns nu fyra konkreta projekt för ny kärnkraft i Sverige. Imorgon talar jag på Nordic Nuclear Forum tillsammans med Finlands energiminister och representanter från Kanada och Tyskland. Att Tyskland är representerat när Sverige står värd är ingen slump. Sverige har gått från ord till handling. Regeringens politik för ny kärnkraft börjar nu materialiseras – i projekt, investeringar, jobb och industriell kraft. Ringhals. Valdemarsvik. Gävle. Studsvik. Westinghouse i Västerås. Alleima i Sandviken, Cyclife och många fler som investerar och växlar upp. Kärnkraft byggs inte av staten ensam. Den byggs av ingenjörer, forskare, företag och investerare – men staten måste våga visa riktning. Det gör Sverige nu. Vi bygger för konkurrenskraft. För försörjningstrygghet. För självständighet. För nästa generation.

När priserna för drivmedel, energi och gödsel rusar måste politiken agera. ✔️ Därför stärker regeringen svensk livsmedelsproduktion med över 1,6 miljarder kronor till lantbruket — samt stöd till yrkesfiske och vattenbruk. Det här handlar om att stödja matproduktionen i ett ansträngt läge.

RUSSIA’S UNFOUNDED ALLEGATIONS: EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT LEADERS EXPRESS FULL SOLIDARITY WITH THE BALTIC STATES   Statement of the European Parliament’s Conference of Presidents in response to Russia’s allegations against Latvia as well as Estonia and Lithuania. The Conference of Presidents strongly rejects the recent unfounded and dangerous allegations made by the Russian Federation against Latvia as well as Estonia and Lithuania, including claims that the Baltic states are preparing hostile actions against Russia or allowing their territory or airspace or military facilities to be used for attacks against Russia. Allegations which Latvia has categorically denied as disinformation. These accusations form part of a broader pattern of intimidation, disinformation and provocation directed against EU Member States and are particularly serious in light of repeated incursions of unidentified drones into the airspace and territory of the Baltic states. Such actions are unacceptable and contribute to heightened tensions and instability in the region. The Conference of Presidents expresses its full solidarity with Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. No EU Member State can be threatened, intimidated or subjected to coercive pressure by Russia. The security of the Baltic states is the security of the European Union as a whole.
