FT: #LFC 0 Leeds 0: Liverpool kick off 2026 with a dour stalemate at Anfield. That was a tough watch. Signs of promise in the first half but the second-half performance was so poor. Littered with errors. Created next to nothing.

Reflects very poorly on the American players that they are happy to stand by and listen to their own crowd abusing their opponents (and friends) when they’re lining up shots. These scenes with Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry do the #RyderCup no favours at all

Yes, sorry, I didn't know about that when I wrote my comment. Unbelievable. FWIW, I googled and a) The PGA commentator was fired -or quit-immediately afterwards; and b) Again, FWIW, she's not MAGA but a Democrat (ppl are blaming Trump for this, when a NY crowd is more likely to be D). The PGA actually had their electronic signboards flashing notices at the crowd to behave themselves. I'm stunned at the crowd's behavior. Look at the Masters or any major that happens in the US - golf crowds don't behave like this in America.🙄

The Ryder Cup crowd was out of control at Bethpage and this will have definitely played a part. It wasn’t even 7am when an official announcer was leading the 1st tee grandstand into a chant of “fuck you Rory” on the mic. Completely unacceptable
