@lydiahallie 1 month later, thought I would try latest Opus 4.7 in a simple astro based build - used all available credits within 20 mins in VS Code via Cline.. Truly shocking @AnthropicAI . No point using this, @OpenAI 5.5 is delivering the same results - no limits reached daily use yet!

@lydiahallie Unfortunately you haven't taken any responsibility so you will now lose users. This is obviously a bug and it's affected all users who use Opus. In one, single request in VS Code/Cline, it used 37% of my Opus on a max plan - it's ridiculous.

Thank you to everyone who spent time sending us feedback and reports. We've investigated and we're sorry this has been a bad experience. Here's what we found:

@cline Shame you can't use it due to your stupid, dated system message 'Cline uses complex prompts and iterative task execution that may be challenging for less capable models. For best results, it's recommended to use Claude 4.5 Sonnet for its advanced agentic coding capabilities. ' !

@TheAmolAvasare It's unusable again - even Sonnet 4.6 has used all my max 5 credits within 36 mins of usage in one project. It's an absolute joke.. No developer can seriosuly use this unless you add API usage on top. Just driving users away.

For clarity, we're running a small test on ~2% of new prosumer signups. Existing Pro and Max subscribers aren't affected.

The truth is finally out. Anthropic just emailed every Claude subscriber. The rate limits weren't a bug. Third party tools like OpenClaw were putting "outsized strain" on their systems. Anthropic's fix? Cut them off. Starting April 4, third-party harnesses no longer get your subscription limits. Pay-as-you-go only. To make up for it, every subscriber gets a one time credit equal to their monthly subscription. I'm getting $200 in extra usage. This is huge. If this is what was killing Claude Code rate limits for Max plan users, tomorrow should feel like a completely different product. I'll be testing Claude Opus 4.6 all day and reporting back. Stay tuned.

@cashflow_king94 Great stuff man but if you can only desposit £20k per year in a s&s ISA, that is only a max of £60k invested. I assuem you can't keep reinvesting any dividends over this amount so has your £60k turned into 175k?

@Steve_Yegge Im in the same boat. Maxed out 20x already in 3 days so have to wait until until Sunday. Currently using GPT 5.2 within VS code via Cline. It's actually on par with coding, much quicker than opus 4.5 but falls short on design and fundamentally understanding target users etc.

This is my third $200/month Claude Pro Max plan. My first two have maxed out their weekly limits, and now I'm about to hit a session limit in my third one. And I'm trying to dial UP my usage, with Gas Town. Has anyone done the math to figure out when it becomes more economically sensible to buy the Teams package and give yourself all five seats?

Claude Code wrote 100% of Anthropic’s new Claude Cowork in a week and a half. If this keeps going, software engineers will have no job.

@2147mill Tbh it's not difficult now with Ai. I've just ran your pie, along with Cashflow king and scrapped another 100+ from trading 212. I asked Claude to spot any patterns between them all and give me a simple verdict if I should invest in your pie or not.
