Clarity on CLARITY! "Long-overdue regulatory certainty" sounds reassuring. But certainty about which rules will be enforced isn't freedom! It's just predictable oppression. Individual sovereignty means not needing government "certainty" to participate in finance. We need decentralization, not a clearer rulebook for control.

The Bitcoin White Paper @opnetbtc/ Danny's argument on Bitcoin and the white paper is that Bitcoin today is not what the white paper described. The white paper never mentioned 21 million coins. It described a peer to peer electronic cash system, a network meant to be used. What Bitcoin has become is a store of value that nobody uses. Danny argues this is not more faithful to Satoshi's vision than smart contracts are. The closest thing to the white paper's description of freedom money, he says, is something like MakerDAO, a decentralized system nobody can stop, that produces money. Bitcoin Opinions @robin_linus/ Robin Linus's argument for why the Bitcoin blockchain is being used incorrectly: the only thing that genuinely requires global consensus is an immutable ordering of commitments to prevent double spending. Everything else, the values, the transaction graph, the history... allcan be validated on the client side by the recipient, who has a direct incentive to verify it. What's the claim? Glad you asked. Here's one: A censorship-restant network and platform where you can find and distribute anything, anywhere, with as few middlemen as possible.

Marketing is limited, in general, for now, we need to expose p2p commerce and graph features before I think we have an honest claim to distinction for users. We can claim better censorship-resistance for identity, but most people don't care about that currently. Yes, Bitcoiners are cooked.
