THE GREAT DECOUPLING Below is a weekly study of the correlation between $BTC and $NDX from the end of the last market cycle Every blue box representing a week where they were uncorrelated Since I entered the space in 2017 I’ve heard people talk at length about how #Bitcoin will become a hedge against traditional markets and inflation But in reality it’s always been macro correlated to the stock market. Especially #NASDAQ100 Over the last year I noticed a Decoupling of $BTC and $NDX A week or two at a time isn’t uncommon but I’ve been watching these get longer over the last year. As the “be your own bank” and “better currency” narrative grows, along with big players getting involved, this decoupling will become more and more pronounced. These occurrences were quite significant over the last year, but in comparison to what we’ve seen over the last months, they seem quite insignificant. Not weeks at a time but months. And much more frequent. From around 12% uncorrelated to around 70% That’s around 6x over the last 7months Now over the last few weeks as stocks turn Bullish and $Dxy is breaking down $BTC is pumping with $NDX I believe this is the market cycle where #Bitcoin truly begins to forge its own path and truly becomes a hedge against the failing monetary system #HODL #BTC
