Cinderella was set to work today in our Science lesson to sort materials based on their properties. Groups used the pack of materials to decide the order and method they were going to use. #bvpsscience

Yesterday we worked in a group and followed a recipe to make a spaghetti bolognese. The new skills of opening tins with a ring pull, mixing ingredients together and measuring herbs out were developed. #bvpsdt

In DT today, we discussed the ingredients we would need to make spaghetti bolognaise. We used a variety of skills such as bridge hold, claw grip and peeling/grating to practise how to prepare the vegetables. #bvpsdt

All children in Year 5 took part in WLSP’s Bikeability Level 1 Program today. They learnt how to navigate obstacles, check their bikes for readiness and signal whilst cycling. We look forward to Level 2 on the road, later this week! #bvpspe #bvpspshe

Year 5 were lucky to have a visitor in school today that links with our current History unit about law. Children listened and asked questions about the role of a solicitor, what training is necessary and how this links with other jobs in the law system. #bvpshistory

Year 5 learnt a new style of dancing from South America called ‘capoeira’ this morning in P.E. Partners created a semi improvised routine and performed it to the class. #bvpspe

Year 5 enjoyed playing a multiplication game today, competing against their partner to arrange a random selection of 5 digits to do a 4 x 1 digit written multiplication. The winner was the closest person to 20,000! #bvpsmaths

Today we started our play scripts unit in English by performing an extract of ‘Matilda the Musical’ in small groups. #bvpsenglish

Yesterday in Computing, we were learning to use different formula in a spreadsheet to help convert units of measurement. #bvpscomputing
