There's been a LOT about why RFK Jr is a terrible pick, but I want to focus on something that is very concerning to me, but no one seems to be mentioning. He appeals to a widespread, common-sense idea that the problem with our food is that it has "lots of artificial ingredients". Get the artificial ingredients out — no chemical additives! no food dyes! no high fructose corn syrup! — and our health problems magically resolve. This is 100% incorrect, and fundamentally misunderstands the problems with our food system.

Absolutely biased from the outcome of today, but this was one of my favorite baseball days of my life. Knowing you’re going against the best pitcher in baseball, who pitched like exactly that for most of the day but made one mistake that landed a single row into the bleachers.

Umpire Ramon De Jesus missed 17 calls in the Guardians Tigers game. He ended the game with a strikeout on a pitch that missed by 3.08 inches, the 2nd largest miss of the playoffs. He had a correct rate of only 86.6%, a rate in the bottom 2% of games called this season.
