Litterally no one will like these takes but I don’t give a shit so here they go: this ETH trade of mine reminds me of my early BAYC trade. ETH was just as mocked at 1500 - yes, fiteenhundred dollars, only two months ago - as apes where post mint, and the disbelief on the way up is palpable. More. The snobbistic views of maxis, the “dead and forgotten soon”, the high horsing all sound the same, sounds just the same. And yet, here we are 4 years later with Apes still living rent free in everyone’s mind, Ethereum finding adoption at scale, DeFi tvl ever increasing and digital artifacts and RWA’s cementing this as their one true home, and yet all bitcoin maxis KOL’s and Solana’s trenchoors intellighenzia can’t wait to shit on the parade. Meanwhile, Vitalik always said BTC is king, and saved Solana’s ass at the depth of the bear. Just like @GordonGoner and @CryptoGarga always lifted every single fucking community out there, bought and supported artists that ripped them down, faced a barrage of criticism and even fucking Nazi nonsense with pride and decor. Winning every battle with no victory lapping, they could be sipping Mai Thai’s on the beach with Vitalik, and instead they’re all still here. And @LucaNetz going mainstream like a steamrolle @punk6529 and crew creating the most beautiful and relevant digital art project of my lifetime with The Memes and @ArtOnBlockchain with Art Blocks and the king @XCOPYART minting shit theough the bear with us and @beeple lifting spirits and keeping the fire alive with his events and the everydays. Every Day. For the culture. Plus a young and hungry new wave of artists and buolders, too many to list individually, that will pave the way for the next generation. You know who you are. THIS is culture. This is what I stand by. This is what I will always cheer on the inevitable comeuppance. I will try and experiment and fail, always. Fuck maximalism in any aspect of life. The death of curiosity is the death of the spirit. And as tardfi wakes up to the world’s supercomputer possibilities, as the tech betters itself slowly but surely, and digital artifacts that survived the most burtal of bear become iconic and start their new run, I stand proud with the few that still showed up here all this time with honesty and integrity, at the lowest lows, building this culture with a vision and a larger time horizon.
