@absentobject Yes totally weird how this is never talked about! Get home late from show (esp if travelling), then either stay up late or get up at 6am to meet deadline. Not atrocious but definitely wears on you if you’re doing it with any regularity

also - it's relatively cushy unphysical work. but esp when you're starting out and stretched thin, it has required me to be literally hungry and tired! I've never really thought or talked about that. and that affects the work, doesn't it. and who does it

when you review a show, it's half a day's work at the very least, and it's highly skilled work. the timing is hard and unavoidably affects other jobs that you MUST have to support yourself. pay is in no way representative, fair or sustainable. I love reviewing, it cuts me up

Theatre Bristol is such an important organisation and its no exaggeration to say that it has shaped the entire landscape of theatre in our home city. A.H would not exist without them, we're devasted that they're being forced to close and the loss will be felt for years to come.
