I met a guy called Fernando last week (who'd never heard the Abba song, he's 21) and when he first came to the UK and introduced himself to people they'd say 'can you hear the drums?' And he just thought it was a weird Manc expression and started saying it back to people

Apparently today has been 'Trans Day of Visibility'. Not to be confused with 'Trans Day of Remembrance', which is part of 'Transgender Awareness Week'. Also not to be mistaken for the 'Trans March of Visibility', which is  part of 'Trans Pride' which is in July. And none of these should be confused with 'Non-Binary People’s Day' on 14 July or 'International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia' which is in May. Oh, or the 'Trans Pride Walk', which is in August. All of the above are of course distinct from 'LGBT History Month' which is in February.  So please make sure we all spend the rest of today talking about trans people, because they just don't get enough attention. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 (H/t @wokeandwoofing)

The scenes of wanton lawlessness by hundreds of teenagers in Clapham both on Saturday and today highlight a lot of people who think there are zero consequences to their actions. Some lightning fast prosecutions would put a stop to this. There should be arrests tonight.

Update. Have just tried to go to M&S on Clapham high street. It is flanked by police who inform me all shops on the high street are closed as they are being looted by teenagers. Lawful citizens can’t shop, private businesses closed. Youths still causing havoc. Lawless London.
