why does a token need a perp market before you can trade it with leverage?
think about it.
a new token launches on @solana
you can buy it. you can sell it. you can trade it on-chain.
but if no perp dex lists it, you can’t do much else.
thousands of new assets get created on-chain every day.
but we’re still behind in infrastructure
most of these tokens will never get big enough for a perp market. but that doesn’t mean they have no liquidity.
it doesn’t mean no one wants to trade them, and it definitely doesn’t mean there’s no demand for leverage.
what is @Lavaragexyz
lavarage is a spot margin trading platform built on Solana
to put it simply, it lets you take positions larger than the money you put in.
all you have to do is deposit your own funds as margin. liquidity from lavarage’s lending pools covers the rest.
for instance, you put up $100 and use 3x leverage
you now control a $300 position.
→ go long if you think price goes up
→ go short if you think price goes down
→ borrow another token against your collateral
v1 had a transaction success rate of around 60% with v2, that’s up about 95%+.
so what can you actually do on @Lavaragexyz v2?
trade almost anything on solana with leverage that includes:
→ major and long-tail spl tokens with dex liquidity
→ tokenized stocks and commodities
→ other real-world assets tokenized on solana
→ eventually, prediction markets like kalshi
lavarage v2 gives you 450+ tokens with live margin markets and 300+ that have no perp dex at all.
instead of waiting for a token to get popular enough for a perp market, you can get leveraged access before that happens on @Lavaragexyz
and because lavarage uses spot margin, you’re not trading some synthetic version of the asset you’re trading the real on-chain asset, with swaps routed through jupiter.
lavarage isn’t just for traders….
you can stake $sol or $usdc into lavarage’s lending vaults.
those vaults fund the leverage traders open, and lenders earn interest off that borrowing activity.
so traders get access to margin →lenders provide the liquidity.
borrowing activity generates yield for vault depositors.

𝐢 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐩, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠
before the third-place match, i checked polymarket and kalshi to see what the market was saying, and france had around a 52% chance of winning in regulation.
to be honest, i couldn’t even argue at that time, even though i knew england were an equally strong team.
i thought the odds made sense.
france had just come off a deep tournament run, and even though they didn’t make the final, i believed they had enough quality and experience to finish the tournament with a win.
because they had good players to guarantee it.
mbappé, dembélé, tchouaméni and saliba
that kind of strong combo doesn’t just disappear because you lost a semi.
france also have the experience of playing in major tournaments, so i expected them to handle the pressure of the occasion better.
but then again, i knew england were not a team to underestimate.
tuchel actually rotated hard for this one
kane and bellingham started on the bench, which honestly should’ve told me something.
rice captained from midfield, saka played from the right wing and used his speed to create problems, rashford started on the left, and toney led the attack as the striker.
it was still an organized team. just not the one i expected on paper.
it was a beautiful game as well
so for me, this wasn’t a situation where one team was obviously better than the other.
both teams had the quality to win.
prediction markets had France to win at around 52% that morning
and after looking at both teams, i thought that was a reasonable number.
i didn’t think france were guaranteed to win.
i just thought they had a slightly better chance.
so i decided to put my prediction to the test and took a $2 position on france.
and then… well
let’s just say love actually costs a dime and leave it at that 😹😭
england came out flying and took control of the game much earlier than i expected.
rice scored inside 3 minutes, konsa doubled it not long after, and saka added two more before half time.
4-0 at the break.
i did not see that coming.
france eventually found their way back into the match and started fighting
mbappé scored one right after the restart, and he was on his way to becoming the tournament’s all-time leading scorer in the process, and barcola added another.
but the early damage was already done.
there couldn't meet up cause England was holding strong
just when i thought they were beginning to catch up, saka completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot, and even after dembélé pulled it back to 5-4 deep into stoppage time, bellingham came on as a sub and settled it with the final goal.
england won 6-4.
France did well though
but yeah…
my prediction was wrong. 😭😂
looking back, i think the biggest thing i got wrong was underestimating how the match would start.
i focused a lot on france’s overall quality and experience, but i didn’t give enough weight to the possibility of england’s rotated side coming out sharper than expected
and that’s something i find interesting about prediction markets.
it’s not enough to ask:
“which team is better?”
both france and england had the players to win.
the market gave france a slight edge and i agreed with it.
but football doesn’t always follow the probabilities.
but that's the fun where the fun in the game is😂
neither france nor england should ever be underestimated.
this time, england got the better of france.
my prediction didn’t hit, but i definitely learned from the analysis.
lesson: never underestimate the opponent, and always look beyond the headline odds.
would i take a position on france again?
maybe. 😂
but next time, i’m paying much more attention to the matchup itself, not just the quality of the squad.
i took this position on @rain__trade
what are your thoughts and who do you think takes home the Ballon d’Or?

why do we sometimes judge the progress of tokenization by looking at whichever sector is growing the fastest?
every asset class brings something different to the table.
i really like the unique direction stacy took in this piece.
if we only build where it’s easiest, we leave out entire markets that millions of people interact with every day.
i actually want to see more teams tackling difficult problems rather than avoiding them.
real estate. private credit. carbon credits. intellectual property. commodities.
the harder they are to tokenize, the bigger the impact if someone gets it right.
because when different sectors start maturing together, more people get to participate, and that’s when the full potential of RWAs reaches its peak.
tokenized real estate is honestly far more complicated than i first assumed
but if we eventually figure it out… wouldn’t that be so much fun?
i’ve been going down the RWA rabbit hole lately, and i’ll be sharing a deep dive soon.
stay tuned :)
